One of the leaders of the terrorist group Abu Sayyaf has been killed in a clash with government police forces which happened in Inabanga, Bohol on Wednesday,

Muammar Askali a.k.a. Abu Rami died in the midst of a gunfight with government troops.
According to Senior Supt. Jonathan Cabal, head of the Central Visayas police office's intelligence division, the notorious leader, along with other Abu Sayyaf group members exchanged bullets with police troops in Inabanga.
The terrorist group members were allegedly spotted far from their Mindanao base hidden deep within the Bohol forests.
Along with the terrorist leader, six other Abu Sayyaf members were also killed during the clash.
Aside from them, three soldiers and one policeman were also found dead on the spot.
Capt. Jojo Mascariñas, spokesperson of the Army's 302nd Brigade released the names of those who were involved and killed in the fight.
Among the names he revealed included
- 2nd Lieutenant Espelito Saldua, Jr.
- Corporal Meljun Cajaban
- Sergeant John Dexter Duero;
- PO2 Rey Anthony Nazareno
